Experience Level: Skill Building
Most AI assistants break the moment they hit a real-world edge case or an irreversible action. For teams relying on fixed scripts, sequential automation fails when tasks require context, incentives, or adaptive planning. The result is "AI freelancing" that creates operational risk rather than dependability.
This Workshop provides working professionals with the architectural rigor needed to transform fragile prototypes into dependable products. We'll move beyond simple prompts to master agentic workflows built on a foundation of structure over autonomy. Using the Orchestration-Operational-Ledger pattern, we'll map how to decompose complex tasks into repeatable steps with clear handoffs and observable execution.
We'll bridge the gap between strategy and safety by externalizing business rules into a formal Policy Document and enforcing tool-level permissions. Together, we'll define stop/escalate conditions to ensure your agents never guess when they should ask for help. Participants leave with a concrete blueprint — including task decomposition and permission gates — ready to deploy agentic systems that behave like disciplined team members.
To fully participate in the interactive components of this workshop, you will need to sign up for free accounts at GitHub and at Claude Code. A short video tutorial on how to sign up will be included in your Workshop materials.
