In this course, you will apply labor relations concepts directly to your own workplace, or one you know well, under the guidance of Professors Alex Colvin and Harry Katz, two of the field's leading experts in labor relations and conflict management.

You will examine the regulatory and organizational labor relations environment and assess the current state of relations between management and workers in your organization. You'll learn how to prepare for possible labor disruptions and explore strategies for effective negotiations and conflict management. Drawing on insights from Professors Colvin and Katz as well as interviews with industry experts, you'll complete a five-part course project that puts these concepts into practice in a real-world context.

While union environments are a significant focus of the course, you can apply many of these concepts to non-union environments as well.
