Join us for a Keynote where wine and conversation blend in a most engaging way. This interactive tasting swaps the traditional lecture for real conversation, pairing the depth of Cornell's wine education program with the storytelling flair of an internationally recognized wine communicator. The result is a lively exchange between Cornell University Teaching Professor Cheryl Stanley and wine storyteller Marc Checkley, BCS, WSET, author of "Switzerland: The Smart Traveller's Wine Guide."

Together, Cheryl and Marc will traverse the key wine regions influenced by the Alps, from Switzerland's centuries-old UNESCO vineyard terraces — one of Europe's best-guarded secrets — to the colossal peaks of Italy’s Südtirol-Alto Adige, Valtellina, and beyond. Marc will draw on his experiences and connections with local winemakers to bring these enigmatic landscapes to life. Along their journey, they will also discuss vertical viticulture, ancient grape varieties, and the secrets they reveal for today’s wine tastes. Each pour comes with a story, shaped by place, history, and the people who make it.
